Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Mother Goose is just a fairy-tale

Goose was a fair; neutral party where politics were concerned. He had been given an offer; a pretty genuine one this time. It had seemed fair, but could he trust the Lagoon's boss to keep his side of the deal? Time would tell and he would watch; learn about the others here. Cullen was not lost to this learning either. Goose did barely know him. Goose had not given the Lagoon a chance, but what prisoner would? He had been taken from his home; his family. Valka may have bested him in the past, but he had come to care about the Bay's Leader. She was different but she was fair. Valka had given him a chance to prove himself better. She had let him remain in the home he had know.

That was until he'd been taken away in defeat of battle. It had not been Valka he blamed. The Lagoon's boss had come from his home broken and been looking to find something he no longer had had. Goose did not agree with how things were done. This time though; he had not been taken away by force. Not in his eyes. He'd agreed to a deal and put his blind trust into Cullen now. What would the Boss do to show his difference now? Only time would tell but he would definitely be watching.

Perhaps they did not see eye to eye. Perhaps though; Goose had partially misjudged the stallion whom had taken him from his home. He had not been there to change the stallion. Cullen had asked Goose to give the Lagoon a chance. Goose hadn't done this in his anger. Valka had come for him and quickly they had run. Away from all of this. Away from the hell he'd thought was here. Goose really did not know much about Cullen but things that he had heard from others. Things that Cullen had done. Who would not want to rebuild something they had? Who would not go after others in hopes that they might see this for something good?

Goose just didn't believe that Cullen should have gone about it that particular way? Take others from their home and expect them to just bow down? Cullen seemed intelligent enough to know better than that, and yet he'd continued to come after them with harsh deals and offers. Goose had taken a deal he should never have had to make. His own son for the safety of his Loire's future? She didn't belong here, she had no want to be here. Cullen had attempted to take her, but Goose hadn't allowed it. Goose could never subject her to this. Neither did he believe that his son so young as a weanling should have to come here against his will. Goose had asked for a year, but had been turned down. Goose had taken the deal he'd been given for Riddler to come to the Lagoon upon being weaned. This was all about to change though. Goose would still allow his son to come to the Lagoon but it would be under his terms this time. Once he had seen what they were about here. Once he had given his vote upon Cullen proving that he deserved it.

There was another that wanted the Boss spot. Why did he believe he deserved it though? Goose knew nothing about any of them. Not beyond Cullen and who he had perceived the other to be. Cullen had shown him difference though. Cullen had asked he give the Lagoon a chance and his vote. Goose had agreed because the Bay's future depended upon it. If anything; Goose was loyal and the Bay was his home. They were his family. Brotherhood? What Cullen spoke of in inquiry was not unheard of to the buckskin tobiano. Brothers were something that you could have though; without having to necessarily be a bachelor. The trust of stallions was something earned though. Goose believed that you had to trust your companions in order to call them family. You didn't just steal or claim someone in the meadows. You couldn't just expect them to consider you family if they were forced into it now could you?

"What I believe brothers to be is perhaps, in a different way than you Cullen." There is a pause as he considers his words next to bring forth. It does not take him long though. "Do not for a second believe this to be my giving into you Cullen. What you said before still sticks strong in my thoughts. What you've done still taunts me. I came though because I did not give the Lagoon its chance. I was angry but under the circumstances do you think I could have been any other way? You took me from my home; my family." He pauses here again but gives only the slightest of smiles before continuing. "Your latest offer piqued my interest though. There was a change in how you had approached and spoke of something more fair. It is the first time that I truly noticed that you really want to bring your life here back to what it once was." He shakes his head a little to rid his mane from his vision.

"There are better ways at getting others to follow you though Cullen. Taking others from their homes will only bring hatred. They will not trust you. How could they when you take them from what they know? A home where they are content and happy." This is where those deep eyes look to Cullen carefully and curiously. There is little trust here honestly at the time, but perhaps Cullen could change that about Goose. This would never be his home, but he could at least see what the Lagoon is all about. It wouldn't do him any harm. "Do you understand what happiness is Cullen? Your brethren should be everything to you. The bonds that you have with those under your care should be strong. I have seen only confusion and hatred among them for you. Have you gotten to know them? They should not only have to come to you Cullen. The effort falls both ways." Did Cullen know that now? Had the other realized what he'd done up to this point? How wrong it had been? Well, time would tell wouldn't it. Judgement was coming but he'd wait and see. He'd study them and learn what he could. Cullen had a lot of proving to do though. This was not one sided by any means.
