PARTIDO 2ND QUARTER--FINAL--NO SPOILERS Posted on November 14, 2020 at 00:12:54 AM by jsolo
Won't give the score or winners for those who want to see it without knowing. Will say this. It was ugly, a bit disappointing.
Total match score Winners: 7; Errors: 17 (my scoring, your's may be different, but I don't think too much different).
Total non-error percentage (balls in play-errors/balls in play) 120/137=.876
For partido jai alai anything below .920 is pretty bad. It's the lowest partido non-error % I've seen in quite a while. The first < .900 I can remember. Of course this was a 15 pt. partido and I take statistics for 2 15 pt. sets and a possible tie breaker, a possible 67 points (v possible 29 in this format), so this just may have been a bad set in a BP Summer Partido, it might have improved in the 2nd set. But it was bad by almost everyone. No one had a + overall score.
Oh well, a win is a win for the victors, but only 1 of the 4 players played well, in my opinion.
Time of the match: 31 minutes.
I will have a point by point breakdown of the entire Tournament on a blog post that I hope to get launched this weekend (server, balls in play each point, score, +/-, commentary. I am presently swamped with the November Sumo Tournament blog post (15 days, 19 matches per day), but will also catch up on the Dania Day by Day this weekend.
Am enjoying watching the contest from afar. There are some really excellent handicappers on this board.
