Re(1): Magic City Tournament Posted on November 18, 2020 at 03:16:35 AM by Stu Neiman
The scheduling of this tournament has remained fluid. We want to get a first one done in 2020 and will only cancel if closures are re-implemented in Miami-Dade County.
Re-entries into the revised tournament are just less than 1/2 of what they were for the original date in April (so I’m told - I am not personally coordinating the tournament). Only players will be allowed in the fronton (up to 4 guests / family members will be permitted to view in the sports club). All players will be required to submit to an on-site rapid test and must test negative (same test used for all Magic City employees - reliability has been good). Once a negative test has been established players will enter the fronton and will be assigned to socially-distanced changing stations (same procedure as our current roster) and all players will be required to wear a mask at all times except when playing.
Participation remains (obviously) completely voluntary however compliance with all established rules and procedures is compulsory. Having been careful, with a better-than-average medical background I caught it in July. Other than quarantine there is no truly reliable way to avoid exposure, but extensive mitigation does abate risk and every participant must assess the risk-reward associated with participation in this event.
