Re(1): General Custer

As I recall, which means I'm too lazy to Google, General Custer's big contribution to U.S. History was to engage CSA's Genral Stuart's cavalry the day before the Battle of Gettysburg. In this he denied R.E. Lee the use of Stuart's cavalry, which Lee depended on for scouting Meade's strength and deployment. Ergo, without Custer, Lee might have used different tactics at Gettysburg, whipped Meade, and the course of U.S. history would have been different. But Custer? As is said, a stopped clock is right twice a day.
