Chasin' down her dreams

I never knew what it would be like, after watching Chalice leave with Ironclad. He'd picked her, and she'd had no choice, I knew that. But, I felt like a lost soul. It was strange. Chalice and I had just clicked in that short meeting. She was like my long lost soul sister, in a weird way. Not that I knew a whole lot about her, but there was something about her that made me miss her. I hoped that she was okay. Because not knowing, was killing me, but I wasn't brave enough to cross the ocean again to trespass into a land I didn't know and try to find her. Because I wasn't sure what would happen to me if I made that journey.

So, I wandered back and forth from the Meadows to the falls, not stepping into the commons again, because I didn't want to experience that kind of thing again. I had gone there with the intention of getting a home, only to find my experience hadn’t been the best and now, I wasn’t prepared for that kind of thing. I don’t think, at least. I wanted a home, yes, but I don’t think going that route would be the best thing for me anymore.

Experience had shown me a different side of the commons that I no longer wished to see. I stood in the grassy field near the falls, staring blankly ahead at the water as it cascaded down the rocks. Even being a few yards from the pool where the water splashed, should could still feel the mist, ever so gently. My mind whirled, not paying attention to anything that went on around me, until I heard my name being yelled. I turned sharply, my blue eyes widening when I spot Chalice running towards me. “Chalice!!! You’re here!!” I couldn’t help being so dang excited! I reached out to her when she was close enough, pushing my nose against her shoulder as I felt my heart thunder in my chest.

I could barely hear a word she was saying, but I caught enough to realize that she’d been released from that man’s claim. Oh, thank goodness. “I am so glad that you’re free! I was so worried but I couldn’t get the courage to come try to get you out, I’m so sorry!” I dropped my head in shame. I had wanted to go after them, to try to get her free, But I was not strong enough for that kind of thing.

My eyes turned towards the male that walked behind her, a weary worn look crossing my face as I watched him, only to relax when Chalice introduced us. Kamekaze. “It’s nice to meet you, Kamekaze.” I spoke softly, the soft almost southern drawl coming off easily. Chalice spoke of Kamekaze helping her. I looked back and forth between the two, before asking simply. “Where is it that you’re headed?” I wasn’t about to commit to going with just yet, unsure what this would bring for me, but the idea of having someone she knew and took comfort from, made the whole idea more appealing.
