Rougaru found himself leary about making the journey from Paradise to the Ridge so soon after Monster had given birth to Alpha. Though she reiterated with a playful gleam in her eyes that this would be their last, Rougaru found himself not quite sure whether she was joking or serious. While she had borne him plenty of healthy, robust, children, she was not the type to enjoy being tied down to Paradise. While he did hope that she had not been serious, he would never push her.

Not that he had needed to urge her much to create Alpha. A warm smile spread across his whiskered lips at the not so distant memory of their coupling along the beach, the warm autumn sun dampening their already sweating skins. Even now he can feel the beast growling hungrily at the thought. But Monster was not his destination now, as enticing as the option was. He had finally reached a somewhat shaky resolve. Today he would visit his neighbors in the Ridge.

Though he had not seen Rivaini much near the borders as of late, he felt certain that by now, she should have given birth to the foal that would bind their herds together. Worry clouded his emerald vision as the broad stallion coiled his muscular neck sharply, forcing away the majority of those haunting images of death and sorrow from his mind. He was no fool. He knew the dangers and struggles that accompany labor and even after. Carefully he had listened beyond the borders, searching for any cries of distress. Surely had something gone wrong, Faolain would have called or sent someone to summon him. Surely?

This time, he does not waste polite niceties by waiting along the borders for an escort. He was on a mission and determined to at least set eyes upon his newest son before being run off. Aside from Nyimara who roamed gods know where, and his fiery Medusa on Tinuvel, his beautiful daughter Calypso bore him seemed to have disappeared with her mother and while it irked his nerves like no other, he tried to let himself believe that she was well. A daughter, yes, he would like to see a daughter to match the boisterous colt Alpha that Monster bore him.

Proud head dips as muzzle lowers to follow the familiar trail of Rivaini, her scent fresh with the sweet warmth of milk, further assurance that she did indeed give birth now. A single dial tilts backwards as the sounds of gathered horses grows louder and cautiously he draws himself from the dense jungle foliage and into view. Emerald green eyes survey the Ridge herd as it gathers loosely together to graze in peace and tranquility. It is only the tall black mare Faolain and the stunning silver bay Rivaini he seeks.

A warm pride glows in his multifaceted eyes as the sleeping figure of bay coloring nestles close to the cream haired queen’s feet. A gentle, albeit unsure nicker rumbles from his lungs as slowly he proceeds towards them at an ambling gait, not wanting to awake the sleeping foal or alarm the protective Ridge queens. A somewhat shy smile tugs the corners of his ash dusted lips upwards in the beginnings of a small smile, ”I hope I am not intruding too much… he begins, stopping a respectful distance between the dark mare and her silver queen, his proud head dipping respectfully to each in turn before eagerly gazing at the child laying undisturbed in the grass. ”Is this Hades?” he asks, waiting patiently as any new father can to be invited closer to the newborn.
