Where was his place in this world? Where was the home that he'd been searching for these last couple of years? The Spanish Mustang mutt wasn't sure. His dunskin form is moving yet again. Those rich chocolate eyes search the landscape easily. Always searching and hoping for something in the form of a decision. So much loneliness. He was no spring foal. A full grown stallion. Sometimes it was hard to find a home in realizing that he was no child and a potential risk to other stallions. Chike was not though. There was no reason to fear him stealing a mare away in the night from one of the lands. That wasn't in his nature. He wanted a home and perhaps love someday. There was always that chance right? He'd been alone for so long though and that hope was beginning to dim.
Left alone again. They always left. Those that he cared about and loved. They always seemed to vanish into the unknown time and again. Left to his own defenses so many times in the past. He was tired of it though. His searching had become tiresome. Chike's rich gaze leapt from land to land. None of them had been appealing as a herd to try and find a home in. That was until he'd come across the Ridge. They seemed to be flourishing with life. Was this the chance he'd been looking for? Chike's dunskin tobiano form could be seen moving gently toward the Ridge. His ears were raised high and swiveled to catch the sounds around him. He pauses just inside their borders.
Gently; a cry sings from Chike's lips. His eyes seek out the forms that may approach him. There is no threat in his posture. His posture is relaxed and without danger to them. There was only kindness and hope in his eyes as he stands quiet now. Watching; waiting for them to come forward so that he may introduce himself and bring forth his question. A home? Was this the chance he'd been waiting for? Hopefully. He'd have to wait and see but hopefully the wait would not be a long one. Replies:
