Thank you Lance and all the boys for their kind words. I am only too pleased to stand-in for Col as the new Patron. So much is owed to Col for the work he put into developing the first airman aircrew site and giving members a forum on which to reminisce and keep an eye-out for each other. Col did a great deal of work in having the Crewies, Gunners, Loadies and F/Engs recognised and given a mustering in which to call our own and receive the appropriate ranks and pay levels applicable to the type of work that was required to have the new, of our era, aircraft i.e., Hueys, Chooks, Caribou, Orion, 707'S and Hercs crewed to operate to max capability. These airmen wrote a special part of RAAF history.

I will try to help Lance wherever possible to ensure the site keeps operating and would hope that somehow we can encourage some of the newer aircrew to join us. This site is a tremendous tool whereby we can stay in touch and keep an eye-out for each other so we can assist any who have the misfortune to experience health issues or hard times.

Col and I commenced our flying training together, and with Bill Ross, were the first corporals to crack the iron circle and become loadmasters.

Please remember that I am only standing in for Col (Tiggy) as all credit belongs to him. He may have passed but certainly will not to be forgotten.

See you at the reunion, subject to 'PALLYCHUCK APPROVAL', of course.

Bob Heffernan
