Bernie, it would have been late 65 when I as a trainee with John Drinkwater crewed the last Rescue 8 for it to Cocos where we gave our Aircraft to Ace Conway and crew who had a bunch of medevacs living on the beach in hoochies and the bodies in the Qantas cool room. We did the engine change and during the test flight a C hose on another eng blew out and Stan Clark thought he was going to get an AFC as he was going to put it on the reef as I had called "Red Smoke from the front mast", I hadn't seen hydraulic oil blow under pressure and you always said "call it as you see it" so I blame you. I may have misled people as I should have said 212 had 5 Rescue 8's for engines or props. I will be up to see you in a couple of months. Regards. Bob H Replies:
