Despite the spark of familiarity in Arkana's gaze, there's nothing in the young stallion's to reciprocate, and a moment later he confirms that he does not know her. "Oh," she says, lost for words. For a moment Arkana feels a little silly, and heat rises into her cheeks as she considers that perhaps she's mistaken him for someone else. Yet as she studies his face, her brain itching with the feeling that she's definitely seen him before, he goes onto say something that fills her with more confidence.

"That's it!" she says with a broad, pleased smile. "I know your father - well, not know him know him, but he was my sire Shamwari's second, and I've seen him around a lot. I live on Luthien too, next door in the Forest with my mother Evren and Persephone." The words tumble out of her mouth with excitement, and she forces herself to pause for a moment to give him a chance to process this revelation, but also so that she can attempt again to place him. When she fails, however, she simply says, "I might have seen you around in the Prairie, when I visited my dad. Or maybe in the Forest, if you ever dropped by."

Her mismatched eyes glitter with interest. She may not have found Kaiju, but she'd found someone who was practically extended family, and what were the chances of that? Suddenly the golds and reds of the autumn foliage seem brighter and the crisp autumn air seems teeming with promise. "I'm Arkana, by the way. So what are you doing here, on the Crossing? Do you still stay on Luthien, Bacardi? Or have you left us for greener pastures?" Her smile brightens with gentle mischief.
