He didn't blame Harlequin for going off on her own to give birth. It wasn't her first, and it was the usual way for mares. It was usually the rare occasion that he got to see the event itself, and usually because the mother was new or scared and needed an extra presence there. The black and white mare reached out to him, breathing in his scent and he breathed in her own. She tugged at his mane and he chuckled, shaking out his forelock as she told him not to go losing hair over it. "You don't think I could pull it off?" He teased with a look of offense before laughing it off.

When he mentioned new members, she agreed it couldn't hurt but told him not to look for mares wanting power cause they had too many. He gave a light snort but smirked. "It'll work itself out in time." He knew it had been a stressful time but he felt things were mellowing out now that a plan had been put into action. Now they had at least two seasons before they had to worry about it again.

He turned his attention to his new daughter then, greeting her as Harlequin teased him about being dramatic. He chuckled, giving her a look when she mentioned the day they met. His gaze turned back to Ryolette in amusement. "I'll have to tell you all about the dance moves your mother put me through to get her home, but that will be for another day." He gave a playful wink to Harlequin before turning back to listen to his daughter. She asked about the Desert and he followed her gaze to look over the rolling dunes, his smile spreading in pride for the place he called home before he turned back to the little red filly.

"I absolutely own all this and sometimes, it definitely feels like it goes on forever. I do know you have a sister. She's very smart, and independent, like her mother. You, in fact, do have more siblings, brothers galore and a couple sisters, as well. I have to disagree with your mother cause I think you don't talk enough, actually." He smirked and gave her a conspiratory wink, chuckling as she bumped his nose and asked about his hair. Her mother answered before he could, teasing Ryolette about pulling her hair out for asking so many questions. Cain snorted in response, chuckling as the filly ran between his legs and stuck her tongue out at Harlequin. "She's her mother's daughter, alright." He quipped with a smirk. When the red girl told her mom he wouldn't let her, he pinned his ears in a mock protective look at Harlequin. "He certainly won't. I've got your back." He said with a stomp of his hoof.

His face softened though as Harlequin said she was sore and tired and told him he would be on daddy duty. He gave her a subtle nod of understanding, his eyes soft before he grinned back. "Sounds like a plan. I'm sure we can find some trouble to get up to while mommy's asleep. Don't you?" He turned his gaze on Ryolette with a mischeveous twinkle in their depths.
