The stallion did not seem daunted by Ravine’s reactions to his aggressive introduction; rather, he seemed to savor the fight she threw at him, dodging most of her kicks without fear. She watched him through slitted eyes, keeping her ears pinned beneath the dark tangle of her mane. Her forelock had fallen messily over her white-masked face during their dance, giving her a wild feeling, which she decided to embrace. She had come to these islands for a different life, hadn’t she? That must mean she was changing to adapt.

”That’s Seashell to you,” she retorted when he called her Shelly, a shortened version of the nickname he had so graciously given her earlier. She had no intention of changing her name, but she felt strangely loathe to the idea that this very rude colt know her real name. If he wanted to call her Seashell, that was fine by her.

Another of her kicks collided with the stallion’s body, but Ravine’s satisfied smirk was pulled into a grimace as she was punished with a harsh nip to her shoulder. The stallion had come up alongside her now, and she glared daggers at him as he circled her.

”Worth my while, hm? You don’t even know what I want. Maybe I want nothing - and yet, I still expect you will disappoint.” She gave an exaggerated sigh and stuck out her lip in a mocking pout. He was flashy, flagging his golden tail like that, and Ravine might have even found him handsome if not for his ugly first impression. She sneered at him before correcting him again. ”Uh, Seashell, remember? Try and get it right, Sunshine.”

Though she was curious about where they were going - the Lagoon, apparently - she did not want to give him the satisfaction of actually asking about it. In a way, this was what she had been looking for: someone who knew the area and could tell her about this place. She would just have to be very careful how she went about extracting that information, because she sorely doubted he would give it away with a simple bat of her lashes.
