I want to make it known that if I should succeed in securing my freedom, I have every intention of putting my name down for consideration as your Boss.

No doubt your current leader will try to argue against both my age and character. And it is certainly true that I am past my prime—but equally true that I have attempted to do more for the Lagoon over the course of this past year than your so-called "king". Who isn't exactly the picture of youthful vitality himself, by the way.

Cullen has done nothing to secure the freedom of those still held captive by the Lagoon. He has done nothing to step forward in defense of his subjects and home each time you have been challenged. In fact, over the past year he has accomplished nothing but to alienate his own Marauder and drive out a competitor who saw fit to challenge him for his position last election. As bachelors—and as the Boss, especially—this sort of rivalry should not only be expected but encouraged as something that keeps the foundations of our society strong.

If you are wondering why this place is so stale, look no further than your own brave "leader". Cullen may have served you well in the past, if you believe that anything of value was gained from his war—but I ask you to consider this one question above all when you cast your votes come fall: does he still serve you now? Or does he seek to serve only himself, even if it means treading over the backs of his hard-working brothers to do so?

Perhaps it is time for change. I can promise you that much—and more. I can promise that my reign will be short, and that at its end I will step down willingly for someone with enough strength and courage to be worthy of leading you.
