Just heard the long alert test from the PHill weather center. It seemed the host and board op got caught by surprise. How does the preemption work? Is there a physical interrupt (hardware, software, etc) that terminates the station signal and broadcasts wx? Do the engineers get a message on some central distribution system and then they manually switch? Legit curious if there are any station engineers on here. Replies:
