The local owners got their cash and got out, that is what drove the changes that occurred in the late 80's and early 90's. As media usage changes, more internet vs "free" media, it's all about the content, owner's are wanting to consolidate. So there will be less "free" competition and more sameness across all formats.
As long as a host is generating cash, they will stay, lose the revenue and their Wikipedia will have an ending. Replies:
