I don't really like myself without you

I don't really like myself without you
Ironclad knew there were always dangers when in a strange land. It was a bad decision of his to allow his nerves of seeing Cerosi, their unknown child, and Cain that blocks the fear that show have been present. He did not properly look around the land for danger or something that could cause him harm. He did not really take in the differences of the Desert compared to his home island (though he has been here before). Ironclad knew of some of the big differences between Salem and Tinuvel, but there was still a lot he did not know. His had been plenty distracted on his last visit. Dark blue eyes watch ahead of him as if he was still lost at sea. He begins to wonder what his child with Cerosi might look like. Was it a boy or a girl? Did the child have her silvery hair and his greying coat? The possibilities were endless!

The mare was close before he noticed her. Ironclad turns swiftly to face the angry mare barreling towards him with a child at her heels. Shock covers his face, mouth gaping, as the anger seems to only grow on her face. Except one quick glance of the foal with her, Ironclad completely forgets the child even exists as the ebony mare attacks him. Greying ears quickly pin back as his weight throws back to his hind legs. His fore limbs rise in retaliation as Melisma attacks. He does not wish to harm her, but his mind is thrown into survival mode as front legs lash out against her own hooves and snaping teeth. Her scream was the only thing he hears even as Cain arrives. He brings himself back on all fours just as Cain drives himself between them. He had no way of knowing if he had hit anyone in his defensive attacks, but he severely hoped he had not hurt the mare or Cain.

Picking a fight had not been his intention in coming here. Wide eyes slowly take in the new scene around him. Cain calms the black mare explaining the reason he was here. A sigh slips through his lips as everyone seems to be coming down from the sudden high. Then she shows up. Ironclad, she breaths his name as a warm sensation flutters up to his chest. It felt like a lifetime ago they had first met. They were both younger back then set on different journeys in life, but last fall they had come together. Well, Ironclad had come to her, but he thought their shared moment meant something more than what it was. He felt a connection to Cerosi from the first time they met and now he felt it growing even stronger with the filly at her side. A daughter…

Kára works hard to keep up with her mother as she fast walks towards the noise ahead. The filly could not say she wanted to go join the group, but if that was where mother was going so would she. So far, her personality hasn’t been much, but stuck like glue to her mother. When mother was around Cain, she assumes he was someone she could trust, maybe even her father, but she gives little of her time to anyone. The silver-haired smoky grullo filly stands behind her dam until she calls her forward. The girl was nearly the exact shade of her mother, silver hair and all, as she slowly slides along her dam’s side with eyes glued to her face with a questioning look. Kára honestly didn’t care about anyone there, but her even as the mare mentions the strange greying stallion was her ‘father’.

”It is good seeing you Cerosi, Cain.” It felt rough saying Cain’s name in connection with his desert rose, but he couldn’t not greet the Desert lead. His head nods to Cain. ”I hope I didn’t hurt anyone. You have a fiercely protective mare there Cain.” He chuckles, trying to keep the conversation between them causal. It wasn’t until Cerosi calls their child forward that his eyes stick to the filly and don’t leave. ”I’m glad to finally meet you little one. I am Ironclad de Warsaw, your father. We have a lot to catch up on.” He smiles proudly at the girl he pictured in his dreams back home. She was just how he imagined her to be though much more like her mother. Ironclad watches Kára stare back at him for a moment or two before his gaze lifts to Cerosi. It was awkward having everyone gathered like this when he desperately wanted privacy right now, but he couldn’t hold back his thoughts. The words were spilling over his lips without control.

“I know you like it here and that Cain is good to you, but I have to ask you something.” He takes one step towards Cerosi. ”My beautiful desert rose, will you come live with me so we can be a family? I want to be with you and our daughter. If you lived in the Inlet, I would be able to see her everyday and get to know both of you better. You said it yourself your father was from Tinuvel so why not come see the magic he saw?” The young stallion’s eyes twinkle as he imagines Cerosi a new member in his herd. Cerosi would make a perfect addition to his small herd in the Inlet and his daughter could meet all her siblings and her large family on Tinuvel.
