Ust you young-uns, the Children of Sesame Street. We retired people were all around before Twitter was invented--when there were fewer pictures in our textbooks and no PC's.

Said one retired CBS newsman some years back, I can't even clear my throat in 140 characters!

Just be glad the mechanics working on your airliner didn't learn everything he knows out of "Jet Engine Inspections for Dummies".

Yes most people have to have more skills than just reading 3x5 cards! And most big companies provide Lunch and Learn and professional education seminars to keep their people, their ASSETS, up to date.

That was the biggest difference I noticed after broadcasting. Employee training. Broadcasters expect you to hit the ground runnin on your first airshift, before you even get unpacked from the last market!
