To show her his own proud stance and toss back the playful banter she greeted him with. But what started out to be excitement, quickly turned to dread. He should have known he wouldn’t be the only one interested as the ragged stallion approached. Bacardi’s ears pinned, his smile melting away, as his heart began to hammer in his chest for a totally different reason.


Though the young mare spoke with such flippant attitude, Bacardi was not so naïve to the ways of the world. Fearsome might be the correct word to use for him as it had been for his sire, and even more so his grand sire. But he had taken on enough battles of his own, the dull ache in his shoulder from Ironclad a heavy reminder that was forgotten in this moment. "Marks that show you have been too much of a pest.” Bacardi hissed in reply to the stallion as he did not carry the heavy scents of others to show he was apart of a herd. A lonely stranger, only here to cause trouble.


Jutting out his nose as his nostrils pinched, causing his lip to raise slightly as if he were going to snarl, Bacardi pushed his way between them. Though he did not herd the young mare away to safety as every instinct in his screamed to do, he couldn’t help but at least try and block the danger away. "I don’t believe it’s a story I want to hear.” Bacardi quipped as his yellow eyes burned into the stranger.
