Riesling wasn’t sure if this was the right choice to make; she wasn’t a naive filly, unaware of just what goes on in the Commons. It’s a gamble, resorting to a place where she has little control over where she winds up, no say in just who she follows home. That being said, what it lacks in choice it makes up for in efficiency. She’s tired of barely scraping by. This winter was hard; never anywhere to rest for longer than a few hours at a time, freezing and starving and constantly exhausted. She didn’t know how in the world it was possible to be so tired and so alert at the same time, but she’d existed in this strange state for weeks now. She’s thinner than ever, her previously muscled form is now slim to the point of being unhealthy, her coat ragged and thinning instead of lustrous. Riesling hasn’t had a good look at her own reflection in a few weeks, but it must have only continued to get worse - food was scarce in the Ruins, where she’d sheltered the past few days. It finally drove her to the Commons, and reluctantly to her future. As she heads off the we sand and leaves behind the scraggly, sparse beach grass for fresh, lush green Riesling sighs in relief. She lowers her head for a mouthful of grass, eager to fill her growling stomach. After a few long moments, she glances around, dark eyes roving across the horizon. There’s no one in sight, but she knows it won’t last long - no one is short of company, here. She’s bought herself a healthy meal, and a little more time. Whatever else comes, well, she’ll deal with that when it happens.
