Thanks, Not A Loser. I have been "between jobs" a few times, but I never became a consultant.
I am now "semi-retired." That means I can't live on my retirement money, and I'm working a part-time job that is below my skills, at a peasant's wage.
Maybe when I am no longer physically able to work my part-time job, I can become a consultant. Either that or I can move to California and join one of the homeless camps...
