News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Don't let me see mistakes and lies
IP: 80.41.76.119

For the little girl inside, who wont just hide,
Don't let me see mistakes and lies,
Let me keep my faith
in innocent eyes

"What, you think I'm not capable of emotion or something?" His words, they went straight through her thick skin and stung her heart like a wasp. Skyfire’s lower lip twitched and quibled as she wanted to whimper but, somehow, she held herself together. Her eyes narrow for a moment. She didn’t mean to upset him, she just wasn't very socially aware. She was not used to living in big family groups. And this was her first time talking to a boy by herself. But … She liked him. She liked him a lot. He was smart, funny, gentle, kind, sincere and amazing and … a Prince?

Skyfire’s mouth holds agape again. This time long enough for the taste buds on her tongue to start drying out in the mountain air. “Wow,” is all she could manage to say right now. Looks like this boy and the alpine breeze had blown all the hot air right out of her lungs. “Umm,” she licks her black lips and starts shuffling the small rocks around her front paws as easily as a child fiddles with marbles. “I've never met a prince before,” she confesses with her blue eyes staring down at her own filthy snow white paws. “Am I … supposed to bow down to you now?”

Although she’s asked the question, the fiery little girl does not wait long for a response. She whips her head back onto her shoulders, her legs, barrel chest and thighs all locking into position like a turret mounted to the top of a wall. “Where I was born, we didn’t get titles from birth, we had to earn them,” a single canine fang flickers into view as she smirks. There’s no resentment in her voice about his circumstances, the time and place of their births was not the others burden to bear. She doesn’t want to threaten him, she just feels like she now had to play her cards right to really impress him. “What is it grandmother used to say,” she furrows her burgundy brow for a moment. “Oh yeah! Blood on the snow is still blood in the snow, and it doesn’t matter who it came from.” Basically, we all die in the end.

“My grandmother was a Chief Huntress, an Alpha female, she ruled with iron claws until the day she could no longer lead the hunts. In our culture, when the lead female can no longer lead the hunt then she has no claim to the title of Alpha anymore. After my mother passed away, and my grandmother was too old to lead … Well,” her voice trails off, clearly still bitter about the last 20ish months of her short life. “Everyone else deserted our hunting grounds,” her tail started to gently sway back and forth like a pendulum and she judged his reactions once more.

“I’ve lost everything, Apollyon,” her voice softens, as though the chilly air had lost its biting force. Although Spirane had offered her food, warmth and shelter, there was still a deep rooted part of her that felt like she didn’t belong here. Blue eyes are starting to twinkle, with tears perhaps, as the light starts to flood back into her eyes. She takes a single step closer and whispers in his ear playfully, “Looks like I’m going to lose you too?” She grins and motions her white masked face towards the sky, the sun is setting fast. The rest of the pups looked like they were getting ready to leave too.

“You should go home before your parents start to worry about you,” she nods, looking and sounding decades older than what she really was. “I’m sure your pack would be beside themselves with worry if they lost their Prince and Future king,” she nods affirmatively and starts to walk down the hill towards the border. “I can escort you to the border, if you want, and then you can make your own way back.” She will be his guardian and his guide home, but only if he wants her to be there for him. Her short legs carry her bulk easily, it’s just her toes and feet that are a little clumsy on the loose soil. She turns her white face to the path straight in front of her. Falling down the slope in front of her prince would be too embarrassing to deal with at this time of day. “I had a lot of fun with you this afternoon, Apollyon,” she’s panting now, her heart ramming against the side of her ribcage as she continues to plod forward. “Can I?” She hesitates, “Can we see each other again?” Her mouth goes dry, what if he says no?
