Eye Color: She was born with very beautiful honey-brown coloured eyes. Unfortunately, Hietala developed cataracts about 6 years ago. She's been slowly losing her vision every year. Her eyes are now almost pure opalescent white. She now relies mostly on her ears and feeling vibrations in the air and earth around her for navigation. She sometimes requires a little assistance from family and trusted allies, but still finds it rather difficult to ask for aid.

Appearance: Heitala appears to be a classic canis lupus, Eurasian Grey wolf. Standing at 39inches tall, most of that height comes from long slender legs. Her part of the family lived in the northern range of their father's kingdom. Heitala was an expert tracker and hunter, never getting lost in the frozen tundras and always coming home alive, even during the worst of blizzards. When she started losing her sight, their pack feared they had lost a valuable hunter. But she convinced them all that sight, during blizzards and blinding daylight, was nothing without your other senses. At a lithe 66lbs, most of Heitala's weight is in her dense coat, which is a mixture of white and grey. She did have some sandy coloured markings once, but they have faded over time. Her distinguishing feature is a facial marking that looks almost like a raccoon.

Personality: Do not allow her graceful outer shell to fool lull you into a false sense of peace, she is an adept hunter and former pack leader. She does not tolerate ... ignorance.

History: Heitala is the oldest living daughter of King Haggard. His kingdom is situated a good few weeks' journey away from Moladion’s borders. Like most princesses of their pack, Heitala was paired to prince in an allied pack. The union was cold and loveless, but not unfruitful. Heitala had been nursing her first litter of pups when their pack was attacked by a southern raiding party. Heitala fought like a beast, blinded by cataracts and rage. She lost everything that day, her mate, little Emmelie (her daughter), her pack scattered for their lives and their kingdom fell. If it wasn't for her little half-brother, Ashitaka, pulling her out of the crumbled snow and ice, she would have perished too. She later found out that King Haggard had passed on, so going home was no longer an option either for the fallen snow queen. She asked Ashitaka where her younger sister was, and his answer did not please her!

She is here to drag Auri's tail, kicking and screaming if she has to, back to their father's kingdom. Auri’s time has come to lead, and she must take her place in the circle before it is broken forever. As far as Heitala is concerned, it was Auri's selfishness and reckless wonderlust that got all their family killed, at least in her opinion she’s lost all her family. She's aware that Ashitaka is following her, but just because he saved her life, does not mean she owes that boy something.
