COME HITHER

He liked the effect he seemed to have on the larger filly. She tried to be confident, but he knew his confident stance was slowly chipping away at that tough exterior, making her vulnerable, able to be manipulated. Satisfaction glinted in his venomous green gaze. She was too hopeful, her emotions so obvious any time she spoke of her mother. He hoped he would never be so helpless without Monster. She was his dam and the giver of life, but even her milk didn't sustain him anymore. He was outgrowing it and with it, the need for her affection. He needed to step up and grow more independent, and he was eager to show this filly the same.

Of course, the idea of adding another number to his herd was never one he could easily pass up. Besides, he would have leverage if he found the filly's mother. He could use one to torment the other if they ever tried to step out of line. The more he thought about it, the more the idea appealed to him and the colt began to wish he really did know where the girl's mother was. Then he could get to the real fun that much quicker.

He told her the truth though, that he didn't know where her mother was. His skin trembled with disapproval when her very face fell at the single word. It was like her whole world fell down around her. Pitiful. Yet he found himself offering to search with her. Another mare was another fertile womb. If they didn't find her, at least he could put the girl in his debt for offering to help in the first place. It was a win-win. Yet that shimmer of hope in her eyes the moment he made the offer made his nostrils wrinkle with dissatisfaction. Did she really have such faith? The filly nodded before her gaze moved to the ocean and Alpha followed that gaze, his own eyes narrowing at the challenge before him. His first swim. Why not?

A single ear flicked toward the filly as she spoke again, telling him where she was born and where her mother was born. A possible option? She looked to him as if for reassurance and he felt the corners of his lips curve. Ah yes, the beginnings of her reliance on him. His plan was already working. He gave a single nod of his head and moved toward her, his body already pressuring her toward the water. "Tinuvel." He growled the word, obviously telling her to get in the water so they could be on their way. He didn't want to admit he had no idea where to go but once they were swimming, they would figure it out, right?
