you hesitated and I don't know why

Her boy was lost to his wanderlust, leaning forward on eager leg’s to smell a dainty flower his wide eyes had fastened themselves on, ignoring his mother’s continuous calls. Hyacinth too was distracted, letting her guard down just a bit to allow her boy to explore, but it is this small mistake that lets the familiar body of a cocky stallion enter her vision and ruin the peaceful air. He is nearly on top of Ollie, who had turned with a shriek at the sudden new presence, teeth snapping at him but the boy ducks away for he knows those teeth would not be as kind as his mother’s.

Hyacinth is livid, at both her own fault for not keeping watch and for the very fact this boy had the audacity to even breathe the same air as her gentle Oleander. She bares her own teeth in reply to his mocking words, eyes watching him move around them that dare to pull her attention from her distraught foal in the hopes of surely distracting her once more. In this case, he was the predator and them, the prey. She regrets not taking Valka up on her offer, the men on these islands were nothing more than pompous pigs. “I see that now,” she grumbles out, eyes slipping to Ollie’s frightened face and then back to her stalker within the same second, silently weighing her options and outs.

When he stops is when she shuffles to the side, careful steps being placed to get Ollie at her back and Annubis at her front while he laughs at her predicament. How dare he indeed, her inner thoughts snarl, eyes narrowing at him for half a second before they soften with a mild bit of mischief and pure disgust for the male before her. He’s insulted her Ollie.

“Your just jealous it wasn’t yours,” Hyacinth purrs at him with a grin, further putting herself in view of his sight and hiding Ollie, the colt getting the silent message to make himself scarce by slipping into the jungle to hide himself, neither her nor him knowing what this stallion’s agenda would be. She doesn't let herself show this rogue how pissed she truly was, wearing her interested guise while keeping the only thing she held dear safe. “Khajiit was a gentleman and an excellent lover,” she informs him rather smugly, digging at the fact she’d chosen to leave with the curly eared male instead that day, that her choice was not in poor taste but the exact opposite, Ollie being a fair price for just a taste of pleasure.

“Clearly,” she holds her head high, just as she’d done in the commons that day when facing him down, “I went with the better option if all you can do is scare children and strut around like a peacock.” Her ocean eyes look him up and down, slowly for that dramatic effect, before falling once more on his face to watch the anger that would surely spill forth from her teasing, proving her words to be true.
