Monster was glad enough to see the nervous look cross the handsome features of her lizard King when she approached. She'd hate to think she needed to remind him of how she got her nickname. Her face only softened when she saw the faces of her sons, two toned eyes finding Loupgaru and Alpha with a soft smile. Of course, seeing Zjeena's son, Akela, made her heart twist as well and she nickered softly to him in greeting. She dipped her head back to him in return, noting the wide berth he gave Alpha. Guess word got around. She gave a rough snort, turning a warning look to her red son. Alpha gnashed his teeth in Akela's direction, obviously heeding no warning to his mother as his ears pinned and his tail gave a flick. When the other young stallion dared to bump his nose against Monster's shoulder, Alpha all but growled possessively and went to surge forward but Monster threw her flanks in his way and stomped a back hoof in warning. Pinning her own ears, she snaked her head around and snapped her jaws and finally the yearling backed down, but not without a death glare in Akela's direction, like it was his fault. Only then, did Monster's ears prick again as she smiled at Akela and reached over to nuzzle his forelock affectionately. "You're getting so big, Akela." When the other two arrived, she smiled at Loupgaru and dipped her head to Annubis. Pride glittered in her eyes when she saw the new marks on her son's coat from sparring with the other young stallion. He was going to be a strong stallion, just like his dad. When he aimed for Alpha, though, she could smell trouble and tried to turn in time to intervene, but she was too late. The minute Loupgaru came into contact with Alpha's hip, the chestnut colt stumbled and spun around, aiming his wide mouth right for the older stallion's shoulder in retaliation. If he made contact, he would then dance out of the way and snicker with a wicked gleam in his green eyes. Monster snorted at him in warning again, but this time he only rolled his eyes. He was already spun too tightly from being thrawted on attacking Akela. The painted mare's attention turned back to Loupgaru though, checking him over for any wound Alpha might have given him before she pricked her ears and listened to him speak. Nodding her head, she smiled and then shook her head. "Yeah, I saw them. I think you're right. I don't remember seeing that many, either. What do you think it means?" She tilted her head, ready to hear whatever theory he might have cooked up. When Rougaru started to speak up, she turned her attention back to her King then, one ear on him while still paying attention to the young boys all around her. With Alpha in the mix, it just seemed like a pot well stirred already. A disappointed scowl tugged at her lips when he said that Gnome and his mate seemed to be gone. A huff left her lips. He said then he would leave it up to her to appoint another Second. She flicked an ear at that before raising a brow. "Do we have many to choose from? Maybe a battle royale is on the menu..." Her eyes lit up as she grinned, mischief in full bloom on her features as she thought about all the bloodshed she could bring to the islands. Who would fight for the right to the title? It seemed like as good a plan as any to her. Though maybe Rougaru would object? Her tail flicked at the idea. Not if he wanted to stay on her good side. Then he asked if she and Alpha would visit the Ridge. Her ears pricked again at that. Turning her gaze to her son, she scowled thoughtfully. Could she trust him in someone else's territory? She'd hate to start a war because he tried to steal some of their fillies for his own "herd." But she knew her mate was right. It would be good for him. With a soft sigh, she nodded. "I'll look into it. She should know better." Her teeth gnashed at the idea. What was the point of an alliance if you turned on it the minute you saw temptation? Tsk tsk. He mentioned a colt named Hades as he shifted closer and though it was tempting to brush against his skin, she held her ground and dipped her head. "Sounds like fun. We'll head there as soon as possible." Looking back again, she noted that even Alpha's eyes seemed to glow with curiosity at the prospect of going somewhere new.
