She knew it wouldn't be long before her and Alpha were noticed. Good, that's exactly what she wanted. She'd always been good at being noticed. She wasn't a delicate flower, hiding in the shadows or whispering her intentions. No, she liked to scream them to the heavens and dare any to challenge her wishes. Some might find it odd for Rougaru, known to be a demanding creature when he wanted to be, to take to such a strong personality in a mare, but somehow he had. Again and again, she challenged him and dared him. She spent most of her youth running away to the Crossing, daring him to come after her. And he did every time. When she was stolen away by Liland, she almost didn't think Rougaru would come after her. After all, she'd been so much trouble to him. And yet he did. When he offered her the position as his Queen, she thought about turning him down. The title wasn't necessary. She would bow to no one, anyway.

Glancing over her shoulder at her youngest son, Monster could only feel pride. He may be a little rough around the edges, but his intelligence practically glowed in those green depths as he looked around. Even as a yearling, he didn't bow to the older, bigger stallions around Paradise. He already tried to claim mares, both young and older, to be "his." He was protective and bossy, maybe even cruel sometimes. But she only saw the best of both herself and Rougaru in his gaze. She couldn't wait to see what he accomplished when he got older.

The painted mare wondered how irritated she could get the lead mares here with her demanding voice. She wanted to be under their skin, after all. They deserved it after their blatant attempt to raid a mare of Paradise. Now, it was her turn to be anything but subtle. Her blue and brown eyes scanned the jungle nd woodlands around her until she could amke out the black shadow coming toward her. Ah, one of them had arrived. A smirk pulled at her lips, her eyes gaining a new twinkle as she took in the mare before her. Her name was hissed to her and the smirk twitched a little in amusement. The mare seemed like she was trying to be diplomatic, asking what she could do for her. A snort left Monster's nostrils. Looks like she was going to drag this out, then. She had to know or at least assumed why Monster was here, so why even ask? But alright, she would bite.

Of course, Monster knew better than to think Faolain would come alone. She had watched them with Rougaru in Paradise enough times to know her own shadow, Riviani, was never far behind. And it seemed she wasn't mistaken. The silver bay mare appeared as if out of nowhere, sliding up against Faolain's ebony coat to stand as a silent sentry beside her. Monster took her in, noting her silence before her two toned gaze slipped back to Faolain, the supposed mouthpiece of this encounter. Perhaps picking up on the growing tension of this meeting, Alpha slithered further up his mother's side to stand at her shoulder much as Riviani did. In a way, he was mimicking her body posture, but his green eyes glowed in warning as his ears flicked back and his nostrils flared. His teeth made an audible clicking sound behind closed lips, aching to taste flesh. He, of course, looked them over as prizes, mares he could add to his herd, but his mother's protection came first and he wouldn't dare to let either of them lay a single tooth on her skin.

Feeling enough time had passed for them to size each other up, Monster met Faolain's gaze. "You can explain your recent actions in Paradise. Do you always make a habit of going against your own word or is that a new development?" Her head tilted as she considered the two mares with an arched brow of expectation.
