Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

the waves call my name

Picking his way through the surf, Triton stalked yet another fish to add to his turtle shell basket. He'd been on a roll this morning, catching the fish as they rolled in with the waves, plucking them up before they could wriggle back into the sea. His father or him wouldn't go hungry, that's for sure. Not that they were ever in danger of that. Thor was always a good hunter and had taught his son to be good as well. They always seemed to have food stored up in their den so hunting wasn't always necessary but even Triton had to admit that a fresh meal was nice to have sometimes. As the shiny fish rolled and wiggled as the wave receded, Triton snatched it up in his jaws and flung it into the turtle shell with the others, knowing that he'd have to call it quits in a minute before there were enough fish in the basket to wriggle out and back into the sea themselves. There was plenty in there now.

Feeling rather proud of himself, the male shook out his coat and trotted over to the basket, looking over his achievements before he started to drag the shell back to the den he shared with his father. Maybe some would think it pitiful that he never got a den of his own and moved away from his father to be more independent, but Triton didn't regret it. His father needed him more than ever after his mother went off onher own adventure. He never did get over Inanna. It was easy to see. Even finding his imprint wasn't enough to bring Thor out of the depression he found himself in. Triton couldn't bring himself to leave his father and why should he? After all, Glorall was his home and he didn't want to leave, not for good, anyway. He wanted to protect this land just as much as Thor did.

Once he was halfway to the den, he stopped to take a breather, taking a look around his ever changing pack land. The floods had left new dips and turns in the land, adding to some parts of Glorall while taking away from others. Some dens would never be usable again. Luckily their den was higher up where only a little water got in. Triton was more upset about losing that island Thor had showed him as a pup. He remembered the tales of how Thor took Inanna there on a date to ask her to be his mate. It was their special spot, and the floods had buried it completely beneath the sea, never to be seen again. Sighing, he took a seat and gazed out over the waves from his perch.
