I DON'T WORRY,
WORRYING DON'T AGREE
THINGS THAT BOTHER YOU, NEVER BOTHER ME!

The words, the implications, and the entire conversation went over Talya’s head completely. Once Talya caught the tense undertones to their words and content she knew by now, as old as she truly was, she decided to stop paying attention. As the two exchanged their words, Talya took to just watching them both. That way she figured with her eyes on them, they’d think she was paying attention. She just had to remember to move her face and nod her head and make expressions that matched whatever the tone was at the time.

Of course, she didn’t do it perfectly. It was all too obvious that Talya was just nodding along and agreeing with them both without stopping to think about what they were saying.

But, looking at them gave Talya a chance to further cement their likeness in her brain, filed under friends. Everyone was a friend to Talya. If they weren’t, she just forgot them.

The golden mare must certainly be a witch, but she’d told Talya she was good and Talya trusted her. She had strange ears that curved inward as if they wanted their tips to touch, and Talya wondered… did all witches have those ears? Because Talya didn’t have those ears and she wasn’t a witch.

Her eyes widened a little. Holy smokes! She was a witch! A good witch. How cool was that?

Talya looked over at the dusky stallion with the very vivid blue eyes. What were those funny words he’d said when he’d first talked? Bear-a Con Oog? Hm… strange name, but she’d heard weirder. She’d just call him Oogie. It’d be easier to remember.

Eventually the conversation drew away from their tat-a-tat and Oogie looked right at her and spoke, and Talya smiled. “Oooo!” She murmured with awe at the mention of purple wildflowers. It sounded so very pretty! She was excited immediately, her blue eyes bright as her grin turned even happier.

“Okay! Yay!” She bobbed her head, smiled at the Good Witch and then smiled back at Oogie. “I can’t wait!”

Then Oogie stepped a little closer to her and whispered something with a smile that made Talya’s smile go a little soft and sweet and dreamy, too. Her ears perked as he walked away, then she looked back at the Good Witch. Ever clueless, she still smiled as she happily proclaimed, “I liked him!”
