*~My Next Collison Course~*

one hundred miles an hour...

There was a time when he thought he would never run across the likes of the gold and white stallion Cullen again. The former Lagoon leader was a thorn in his side where they had once been brothers. Collision had given him his loyalty blindly and paid dearly for it in losing track of Shenzi when she needed him the most. Then when he'd confronted the stallion with honesty, telling him he would never return to the Lagoon, Cullen had attacked him viciously, wanting him dead. He didn't get his wish, of course, and Collision had to believe he got a few good licks in himself, but as he finally thundered away from the painted stallion that day, he assumed they would never cross paths again. How wrong he'd been.

He didn't believe his eyes at first when he saw the flash of gold and white coat coming toward him between the bodies of other horses. The moment recognition hit him, the overo's ears folded back and a scream of warning left his lips. He threw a front leg out in challenge as the other stallion charged toward him. Cullen was on the hunt. Who'd given that man a herd to look over again? Maybe he stole it out from under someone. Either way, Collision knew there'd be a lot of blood shed here today before he went anywhere quietly with his former leader.

At the stallion's threat, Collision threw his head and spun away from the stallion's teeth, his haunches snapping around to kick out a back leg toward Cullen. Why go find it when it followed you here, Cullen? I'm not coming with you. You'll have to drag my dead corpse." He turned back to face the other after his retaliation, hell bent on fighting this out until neither one of them could speak, let alone breathe. But then he heard thundering hooves and his head snapped around. At first, he thought it might be a minion of Cullen here to re-enforce his claim, but instead he saw a mare who only looked angry at the golden stallion. She charged in, all teeth and well-earned battle scars (he was sure, anyway) as she told him Hell had already come for him. Collision couldn't help but think of Bozena and their last conversation in the Peak as he watched the strong warrior in action. She smelled of the Peak as well.

Collision made to catch her gaze and if he did, he would tip his head in respect, showing her clearly how he felt about mares from the Peak. Through Bozena, he once held an alliance with them. In a way, the Peak had been what saved him from the Lagoon. At the time, he didn't think of it that way, but by the time he left the Peak, he could see what they'd done for him. He curled his lips and snaked his head toward Cullen again. I think you've already worn out your welcome, Cullen. Go on, before you get yourself hurt." His teeth clacked together on an obvious threat as he stomped the ground.
