Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

Oswin & Róisín,

Having only recently returned to the Islands, to this mountain where I was born, I wish you both welcome; welcome home. Though I’ve not had the chance to meet either of you properly, I hold you both in high esteem. It is with more than just words that you approach the rest of us with, the actions both of you have made as of late speak volumes for themselves.

I would be only too glad to support both of you with your endeavours, as far as I am capable of doing so. The hopes for the Peak that you both describe match my desires; a better life for my daughters that is not shadowed by the turbulence of the past.

Oswin, I think it wise indeed to learn of the herds scattered across our little archipelago, starting with the Lagoon, as Róisín suggested. There appears to still be some bad blood between us and the Bachelors, and it would set my mind at ease if we could work towards remedying that, so that it does not fester any longer.

And Róisín, I believe you will prove to be invaluable in catching Oswin and myself up on all that has happened in our absence. You ask for our blessing, and you have mine. That you are, as you put it, untried, is not something that concerns me. You are ready and willing to make a change, and your attitude is a noble one. This is what counts in the end.

Truthfully, I am grateful to the both of you. It has been a long time since I last walked upon these slopes amongst sisters that I followed into battle years ago. And though the faces might be different these days, the hearts are similar. Fierce and fervent you both seem to be, willing to put yourselves at risk for the well-being of others, ready to fight for what you believe will be a better future, not just for us here on the Peak, but for our families dwelling beyond the mountain’s shadow, and all those who call these Islands home.



My sisters and stallions of the Peak,

I understand that some of you have lived here a long time, and just as Oswin and Róisín have acknowledged before me, this is your home as much as it is ours, and your voices are just as important as anyone’s. Forgive me for not having sought any of you out sooner, I readily admit that for a time, looking after my daughters was my main focus, and though they are still very much a priority to me, they no longer require so much of my attention, and now I find myself free to prioritise the wellbeing of all those who call the Peak home.

I look forwards to getting to know all of you better soon.
