Look, look. Don't you understand? Mayor Lucas is preparing himself for Emanuel Cleaver’s Fifth District US Congressional spot.
I have never heard Representative Cleaver say anything “yea or nay” about Lucas, and I don’t think Lucas has the political savvy that Cleaver has, but - - - Lucas is the right color, has the right political party, and is following Cleaver’s proven Council-Mayor-Representative path.
Now, if the Dems can find some way to preserve Cleaver’s gerrymandered District, it’s a done deal.
