Re(4): Progress, not perfection

You sucked up when you wanted stations to cut their rates, or give you free shit, didn't you? Interesting how you remember things I said a very long time ago.

Do you save my posts, write em down, or carry grudges for years on end? You can mark D for "All of the Above" if ya want. But for a guy who never talks in here about radio talent, I'd say you're not really into radio people, just radio money! Actually I dont remember radio sales people hanging around the performing types except when cutting spots in the production room. You don't really know if guys in this market actually "enjoy" what they do or not.

I know guys in the past did when they were treated better, or guys in big markets in good time slots that paid well and valued. I gather from comments in here over the years, plus the turnover, that radio treats most staffers like stores treat clerks.

Most observers in business have learned that to find out what youre boss thinks of you, just look at your paycheck and how often you get a raise and the time off you ask for. I can't think of anybody who came in here braggin on how good their company was. Back in the day, we did. Did I ever tell you that when I was at KFH, owner Sen Nancy Landon Kassebaum baked me a birthday cake once and bought us a nice wedding gift! And she was a Republican!!!

Just sayin.
