PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

let me be brave

Oswin had already known the young mare intended to gun for General. With the numbers they currently had to work with she knew she already entrusted her for some position at the head of the Peak. Already she’d spoken up and questioned things that Oswin would have never stopped to question. In the past, Oswin might’ve been too taken aback and offended at being questioned to be receptive to everything Róisín was speaking about. Thankfully age had tempered her pride… a little.

She was, however, curious the same way Róisín was about their new company. Oswin’s blue eyes flicked to Bane and a grin curled over her mouth at the mare’s blunt answer. Already, Oswin decided she quite liked Bane. A low, soft chuckle followed Bane’s parting words and Oswin gave a small dip of her white face. “Well said, Bane. Goodnight.” Her smile stayed warm as she watched the mare retreat.

She glanced over at Róisín, a new appreciation rising up in her as she studied the mare. “You know… when I was your age I didn’t have half the wisdom you seem to have. My dam always said I was the type that had to learn the hard way.” Oswin grinned cheekily and sighed. “Anyways, for what it’s worth, I know I’d already said I’d support your campaign for General but,” she lifted her eyes to meet Róisín’s. “Now you have it twice over. The Peak needs a forward thinker like you, someone who will keep all of us in check, too. I don’t quite tire of politics like our new sister, so if you ever want to talk, I’d love to hear more of your thoughts.”

That said, Bane had been right that it’d been getting quite late. Oswin yawned and chuckled after. “Well, maybe Bane had the right idea about getting rest.” She smiled and wanted to reach out and affectionately touch her muzzle to Róisín’s skin, but realized there was likely still time needed between them before they were that close. “Goodnight, Róisín.”

Oswin bowed her head and carefully turned, making her way back toward the path. She’d take it the rest of the way up, careful in the dark, and sleep beneath the blanket of stars at the top of the Peak.

oswin
this is as brave as I know how to be.
I know it’s gonna hurt you, but please… be a little proud of me.
