Use caution when the Wolf comes aknockin;

There is a silent glance that passes between them as Nasa made her escape. Depthless multifaceted eyes of emerald study the blue green contours of her gaze as she murmured her apologies and sidled away from him as though she longed to be free. Something that he has come to associate with the darkling mare. A gentle smile curves across his ash dusted lips as the broad stallion nods his head in response and watches as her lithe frame disappears into the shadows of the forest.

For a moment, silence lingers between the two creatures that remained. The tall broad shouldered stallion and the slender bay filly that comes to stand alongside him. Like him, her emerald gaze trails after the shadows in which Nasa disappeared. A single fluted lobe tilts amid the tangle of wind swept cream and caramel locks. The tone of her voice is almost resentful and causes him to shift focus to her finely dished face. Sympathy burns within him as he stretches his muzzle towards her. ”If you would like, I will take you to the Harbor. The woman who rules there now is a friend and no doubt she will welcome the visit.” he continues pausing a moment to mull over his own words before letting them slip past his lips. ”Your mother is good. Perhaps one day she will find what it is that calls to her soul. Until then it is likely that she will continue to wander as I did until I came upon Paradise.” he adds with a reaffirming smile. Of course he does not know if the words he speaks are true, they were at least for him but perhaps Nasa was different. Nonetheless, he can only hope that Kaari might find reassurance in what fatherly advice he has to give, even if it was coming a bit late.

She continues on, telling of the time they spent on Salem and her mother’s alliances in the Desert. He knew quite a bit about the desert stallion Cain and not all of the history between them had been good. Silently he nods along, listening without daring to speak for he did not intent to color her judgement of whatever friends her mother and no doubt she as well, had in the Desert herd. But there is a longing in her voice when she asks him about his past. Depthless emerald green eyes glance back to her gentle face as a soft sigh escapes his lips and he too turns his gaze to the jungle and its various shades of greens and brightly colored flowers. ”No.” he begins, pausing a moment to turn his gaze back to her, green eyes warm. ”Paradise was not always my home. Believe it or not, at one point in my youth, I lived on Salem myself. But that was many many years ago.” he continues, taking a step forward continuing down the familiar trail before him. ”I lived for a time far from the islands, my own wandering heart to blame. But it was not until I returned here and found Atlantis that I found my purpose.”
