no one to love you when you trap yourself inside

She hardly ever left her homeland except for lately. The burden of her loss was just too strong of a pull on her heart to sit still. If she stood for too long in one place the tears would fall and she was so tired of crying. The only thing that kept her home right now was her little grandson. She felt a strong sense of duty to young Sigmund. He was her responsibility since the death of Isabel, but she had no way to feed him. Having to call upon the help of various Cove mares was the only thing she could do for him right now that meant something to the boy. Everything else seems too small. Aside from her duty to keep her grandson alive, she also had the duty to the herd to fulfill.

In the beginning Ysabel found it important to know every member of the herd. The task was difficult because Solomon had so many admirers, but she made some progress learning some of their names. She met a few of their children and learned some of their personalities, but her difficulty with her relationship with Solomon kept getting in the way. Drama with Isabel arose, drama with Bjorn, and now the whispers of a war was on the wind. Every movement she made from here on out would have to be tactical. This is what brings her to the commons. It was time to show the Cove she was still the Queen. She could provide and she could grow the community. Their strength would come in their numbers and the bonds they shared. Ysabel would set aside those who tried for her crown to slay the enemy that threatens their lives.

The Queen walks among the crowd as if she was uninterested in those already conversing. She was searching for that one lone figure that had not yet found a partner. The lone horse she could claim for the Cove and add to their forces. Not only add another face to the community, but maybe score some points with the rest of the herd. They would see she was still able to perform her duty and Solomon might thank her for another body to keep him warm at night. Ysabel searches for that one lonely soul until her icy gaze finally falls upon the ghostly mare. She is very pale in color, but the tint of blonde in her hair gives Ysabel the idea that she might just be her King’s type. She thinks he might go for any mare he got along with, but it was the pale figures that seem to entangle him the easiest.

A call leaves her lips as she approaches the mare. Ysabel stops just a few paces away from the mare as she dips her head just slightly in greeting. "Lovely day isn’t it?” A smile stretches across her own pale lips. "I am Ysabel de Zevulun, Queen of the Cove. I have come searching for more members for my King and you seem to be all by yourself. I can tell you more about the land I come from if you like. That is if finding a home interests you.” Being forceful (especially with another female) wasn’t her game play, but she did not plan on leaving this mare alone for someone else to scoop up. She would be coming home to the Cove to meet Solomon. He then could decide to let her go free or keep her in the family.
