PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

HEROES GET REMEMBERED

Anath knew, to a degree, what Clarity was likely feeling. She’d said as much-- no one was, in her mind, the right one to take over for the last generation. The last generation that had led, the generation that had cultivated the adult that Clarity had grown up watching. Anath knew, and she related in a way to that feeling. When the champagne mare had been young (it had been a long time, but she did remember), she didn’t think she’d ever feel ready to step up and fill Cudgel’s shoes.

The champagne mare lacks Oswin’s careful tact. “I want to know why you don’t put your own name in, if you feel so strongly.” The words were flat, to a degree. They lack any strong emotion, including curiosity. “You speak your mind, but offer no solution.” Sure, leadership wasn’t for everyone. Anath had stepped into the general’s seat when she was far from ready herself, a matter of necessity. Times had been different then, and the vacancy created a grave danger for the Peak. The general’s vacancy now was something different, but it was a vacancy nonetheless-- it still wasn’t good.

Anath isn’t necessarily cold, but she’s studying the painted mares before her. Carefully composed neutrality as Oswin speaks. It comes off as a campaign speech, so it goes. The champagne mare doesn’t have it in her to fault her sister for that. She’s never been one for politics. It was an ever changing landscape. Anath didn’t want to keep up with it anymore. No, she’d spend her twilight years in the Peak, training the next generation of warriors. Or so the champagne mare thought.

Clarity reminded Anath of herself, in younger years. “I’m glad you’re questioning things, though.” She echoed Oswin’s sentiment. Though the champagne mare had her feedback, she didn’t want to put out the fire in the young woman. Anath could fan the fire, and she would as best she could. Question everything, especially authority.
