Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

let me be brave

The Peak mares couldn’t let the conversation with the Lagoon boss slip away so easily. Oswin did not hesitate to follow after him. Like Róisín, she avoided getting too close to his hind in case he threw out an unfriendly kick. She was curious even more about him, especially after what he’d just revealed he was attempting in the Lagoon.

Her blue eyes shot toward Róisín as the young mare admitted the Peak could potentially have its fair share of problems, too. If she hadn’t already talked with the young mare and she hadn’t managed to show her the mistakes she made, even when she thought what she was doing was right, she might’ve taken offense. As it was, Oswin only bowed her head lightly in agreement and let her younger sister talk. Every word Róisín spoke was one she agreed with wholeheartedly.

Then came Róisín’s truth. Oswin looked from the Lagoon boss to her sister and back again. She was more likely to trust Rade, as no harm had ever *truly* befallen her at the hooves of the Lagoon bachelors. They’d played their games with her and her sisters years ago, but it had never been enough to leave a scar across her heart, only her hide. Róisín had more personal pain to speak of, and yet for the greater good, was willing to try and put that aside.

Oswin didn’t need to speak again, but she watched and looked on with her pale ears perked. She was extremely curious to how Rade would answer Róisín. If he would understand that she and her sisters were trying to make a better Peak, a different Peak. If he was doing the same with the Lagoon, she was truly impressed. She never would have thought it possible to cure that which made monsters at the start, only ever focusing on beating them back to whatever darkness they’d come from. Was this stallion before them truly trying to build a better life from the start?

Together… if he were successful in his new mission and the Peak was successful in theirs…

Oswin tried not to let her heart beat with too much hope. She only stayed quiet and waited to see how the Lagoon boss intended to answer.

oswin
this is as brave as I know how to be.
I know it’s gonna hurt you, but please… be a little proud of me.
