In my name shall they cast out demons

Mother I am here,
I can hear your song

She was fairly sure she had not told anyone who her father was, but she couldn’t be too certain her mother didn’t say anything. Himena would do anything to get under Rougaru’s skin so telling him about her frolic with another stallion would be exactly something she would do. Bathsheba, on the other hand, didn’t care to mention her sire. He was no in her life nor has she ever met him. If it wasn’t for the talk around Paradise about Solomon and the upcoming war she wouldn’t have known he was even around. Her allegiance was no to him, but she couldn’t help but worry for the safety of herself and her children. If Rougaru knew the blood in her veins she was certain she wasn’t safe here. It didn’t matter if she loved his son or not, no one of Solomon’s blood was safe. She had learned this by overhearing Rougaru’s conversation with Vihar. The girl was apparently another daughter of Solomon who has fallen for a son of Rougaru (at least she thought the girl was involved with Annubis romantically).

She has never disturbed the wolf King before so she hopes such an occasion wouldn’t rile him up. She just had to feel him out to know how he would react to her. Did he know where she came from? Did he care like he cared about Vihar or would be understand her situation was different? She wonders if he will scold Akela like he did Annubis. The questions were becoming too hard to bare. She could no longer wait in the shadows for someone to come for her, it was time for answers. She would approach Rougaru for a simple conversation. This would tell her everything she need to know. This small conversation would decide the steps she takes to protect young Cotynga and Eeva. She just prays Akela would understand. The silver haired smoky grullo blinks away the few tears collecting in her eyes. Her true feelings didn’t matter when it came to her children. She had vowed long before she was a mother to never treat her children the way her own mother had. Her young age did not reflect her maturity.

It was not hard to find the old King as he stares across the border into the Ridge. He was here a lot, but she usually goes the other direction when she sees him. There was no much good she could say about the King though he had helped Akela save her from the Lagoon once. The memories of her mother’s pitiful death had been too scarring to forgive him so easily. She nickers to alert the King of her approach as his back was turned to her smaller frame. ”Do you see something?” She asks softly to jump right into a conversation. The stallion seems just as obsessed with the Ridge as he was Solomon.

I can feel your fear,
he's done you wrong
