Sooo… I’ve got this idea of a group of young’uns traveling together to the Isles. Big ~Found Family~ kinda vibes. This is just a super casual kinda interest check to see if it’s something that others would wanna join in with, but yeah, no pressure.
My idea is that they’d be characters that’d have chill threads together (mostly closed for the group, but some open for interaction with other Islander ponies), just exploring and bonding and it’d be pretty relaxed and not super plot heavy or fast-moving or anything <3 They’d just grow up on the islands together, have fun, get up to mischief, stuff like that. Potential for future drama within the group as they all mature some, but definitely not set in stone – I want this to just be lighthearted, easy-going sorta stuff. My hope is that this little band of misfits will always stick together, no matter what.
I had a couple ideas as to backstory. Having them starting out young, there’s not really much, but I did have a couple ideas:
1. All born in the same herd, possibly some are related, close friends. The colt/colts in the group were being chased out by the lead stallion(s) and, not wanting to be separated from them, the fillies/filly ran away with them, and they all journeyed to the Islands together.
2. Again, they were born in the same herd, (potential half-siblings again, or cousins) but this was a very large herd (so, maybe no relations between any of them at all) and it was ruled over by a cruel tyrant & his lackeys. Our brave little rebels decided that they wanted a better life for themselves, and escaped the bleak future that was laid before them.
3. Maybe they weren’t born in the same herd after all, but came from various troubled backgrounds (orphaned/abandoned/separated from their herds etc.) and somehow found each other in their wanderings and have stuck together ever since.
Just some vague sort of plotting I’ve been doing. Another idea I had is that they all named each other (because that just makes my heart happy). Home is wherever they are together, and they don’t need anyone else ‘cept each other. I’m super open to other ideas anyone might have, and happy to develop things further with input from others.
I… may or may not already have a wip playlist for them. >_> I’ve also been thinking way too much about Lost Boys & Killjoys lately, and tbh, that’s where I drew a lot of inspo from, soooo <3
Don’t really have any more than that at the moment. Didn’t want to set an age limit, or a number limit for this plot, but please, I just need this in my life: a rambling little herd of intrepid souls who are one another’s heroes & heroines.
