you think I’m crazy?

Life was a game, and Jinx played to win. She is unhinged, and positively wild as she regards the stranger. Fast. Jinx was fast, and she’d move faster and faster. It would consume her, and she would consume herself. Eat the other. Eat the voice inside her head. Eat the voice that echoed around between her ears. Internal monologue? Voices? Something else? Right. Wrong? Wrong, probably. Her ears flickered, pinned back and pitching forward in an instant. Though there was a scuffle, a scrape, between herself and the brown mare, Jinx doesn’t feel any gravity in this situation. No gravity. No bones! Weightlessness. Or was she dizzy? Could have been both. Could have been something else entirely.

The frenzy of hooves, of teeth, of pressure. It was all a game, and Jinx would find purchase with her teeth wherever she could. There was a pulling of hair, and really, she couldn’t tell if it was the stranger’s or her own. Was that her own mane in her mouth? What the fuck? Wild. Jinx is wild. She is wild and she is alight with all of the wonderful and terrible things echoing about in her head. Bite. Kick. Scratch– could she scratch? Sure. Jinx burns brightly, absolutely radiant.

Manic energy had overtaken her. Nyimara the name reached her, and Jinx’s head quirked to the side as they stepped back from each other. The mare’s neck over her shoulders, and she’s warm. A queen… of chaos? How did you even get a title like that? Was there some sort of vote? Was she an elected official? There were too many thoughts in Jinx’s head, all crashing and colliding together. She reached with a flash of white teeth, looking to nip at Nyimara’s leg.

Jinx’s heart hammered in her chest, and she was beginning to tire. The swim had been long, and it had been so long since she was truly able to rest. She took a step back, feeling a chill from the autumn breeze against her sweaty side. A shiver raced down her spine, and the blue mare tossed her head. “If you’re a queen, I want to be one too.” The words were sing songy as they fell past her lips. Jinx’s eyes glimmered. The mania couldn’t be tamed, couldn’t be stopped.
