TV: Send 1st LIVE responder to the COMMAND CENTER!

Surprise, we just got our internet back just now, most people in the tornado areas still dont' have TV. This experience for me reminded me of Joplin. Thank god for TV here so thousands of people got warning, those smart enough to either stay up, or get a WEATHER RADIO to wake you up. News junkie I am, I stayed up. Woke wife up when it was 2 counties away. Luckily our house didn't get hit, but yes, we were on national news tonight!

Lucky you for having basements to hide in. Here, they dont' dig basements.

I always thought Johnny Rowland was the total cat's meow and he IS.

But even in places in the middle of the night, there are some fabulous TV stations that work despite being surrounded with power outages. Weaather men are just HOT SHIT. They and the peeps who keep them on the air are as herotic as first responders only more so... they urge people to take cover BEFORE the Responders have to climb over their bodies to find those still alive!

We lost a hundred or more, a dozen life flighted to pediatric hospitals, 2 dead kids.

We had to to the hospital for treatment,a clusterfuck, lines down on major roads, streas down..a fire truck took us sclose enough to find the hospital. Yup, our hospital was on ABC tonight's liveshot!

I thought I knew about disasters, seen plenty, but this one was a clusterfuck and not much scares me but I nearly peed my pants Fri night! Hard rain enroute to the hospital, lines and trees down, total darkness due to no electricity. WEr were UTTERLY disoriented getting help Firemen got us pointed in the right direction in the hard rain.

I learned the first thirty minutes for injuried and homeless is just horrible, not what you can learn from radio and TV. The only help in darkness is EMerG SVCS! Not media! Radio and TV are hours behind before communicating to their viewers.

KC's dodged some bullets. Get ready and if your media outlet isn't ready to serve when the time comes.... well figure out how you CAN be. Today's radio is more itnerested in profits than public service, and ya know it. It's among the reason why I decided radio was a waste of my time and talent.

Radio journalists.... abandon radio and move to TV which still has the commitment! Radio's just an itunes broadcaster. Learn video skills and move on to where the audience is!
just sayin.

Media TV disaster planners need to send a crew NOT FOR PHOTODAMAGE, but to the Command Center to speed up Messaging to the population.

SEND A CREW INSTANTLY to the local COMMAND CENTER to link them to the PUBLIC
