Re(2): Disaster planning ideas

Theres always a moron holding a grudge at Chicken Little. Don't listen to him, he's just bitter for what happened to him when he was on a board of a low rated public station.

Ya wanna see what people know and don't? Go to the ED an hour after a weather strike and you'll see em sitting shirtless, barefoot, with a hospital provided blanket around em....waiting to be seen by a doctor busily treating people who were more seriously hurt after being driven to the ER doors by a loved one.

Odds are, no one at the station has ever seen that because they were always preocupied chasing the storms to catch some video. Or in the case of radio, most radio people actually never leave their studios and binoculars dont help.

If ya didn't before, the time to create your plan is the next day when the skies are sunny and you have the discipline to ask yourself, 'what can we do better next time [and there WILL be a next time.]?'

Or listen to Ulinik and make the same mistake again. If memory serves me, the generals and admirals responsible for safeguarding the Hawaiian Islands lost their jobs days after FDR declared war on Japan. I know, I know, nobody got fired after 9-11, but, they're salesmen or politicians-- not news directors.

I don't think anyone will pay attention to Jim Ulinik's scoffing. He's not in broadasting.
