It's holiday week, so my clinic is closed. If this is an actual emergency, you should dial 9-11 but ask for an ambulance, not police. Cops do have electro theraputic tasers, but sometimes they confuse them with their guns. We're working on that but so far, they've just been trained to BUST heads, not to actually get INTO their heads.
Now that since Western Missouri Mental Health was closed and turned into a parking garage, police just take em to the Jackson County jail, so long as they don't put up a fight-- which can have unpredictable results that could mean a trip to Truman's ED instead. So I don't recommend you call the police when your loved ones are out of control. Replies:
