Re(1): Just Don't Bother Telling Me About It

I agree with your discomfort when a guy talks about his 'husband.' In my judgment, thats TMI (Too Much Information) about who might be the dominant or submissive, the head of household or the not-head of the household, the guy that works verses the guy who cooks.

I'd rather the gay community would just use 'partner' because the words husband and wife have always been associated with male and female GENDER.

That they've decided to change that in their campaign for equal rights reminds me of feminist women who tried to recoin gender neutral words in the English language which have always failed to catch on. I thought s/he would be cool for 'either' instead of 'he or she' but I don't have that much influence!

I do notice band vocalists on stage still introduce each musician with Mister this and Mister that. Even that seems trite to my ear calling a long haired dope smoking albeit creative musician "Mister". I suppose I'd have said Mister Poverotti, but not Mister McCartney.

I"m rambling. Disregard my drivel like you usually do. grin. Hope ya woke up in your own bed this morning!
