Re(1): Carolina Wren

Hi Marie; Some winters we observe both Carolina Wrens and Winter Wren not mitigating south in winter and visiting winter backyards and bird feeders. This is not a common occurrence and some winter none are reported but some winters as many as three or four are observed. This has been occurring now in our area for many years and will continue to occur, but I don't think it is tied to climate change or global warming since these birds have no idea of the winter ahead. It is just that some are either too weak or do not have a strong enough urge to make the hard migration trip south.
