Kaari watches Dill carefully as he explains why he has laid his claim to her. She looks at him, a bit puzzled, "Does this mean you own me?" She says with doe eyes. She assumed that not in the context that she would subjected to slave ownership, but moreso that she would now have to abide by his rules. Kaari wasn't sure how she felt about this; she'd run away from constraint by leaving Paradise. She didn't want to live under someone else's hoof. Why would he need to fight for her? Were there others who may wish to own her? Kaari is so bold as to meet Dill's eyes as he offers his help to search for her mother. She hadn't pondered going after her, to seek her out, though she sometimes wondered if she was ok. Did N.asa think about her? Miss her? Her mother was a kind soul, but a wanderer at heart and Kaari often worried as she got older, that someday her nomadic mother would wander somewhere that wasn't safe for her. She never knew how old her mother was, only that she was as dark as night with the most emerald of eyes. Even if she may be old, Kaari never knew it for her mother was young at heart. She realizes that the silence between Dill and her has sent her into an awkward moment. She clears her throat, "I don't even know where to begin in looking for her. I'm sure she's ok," she says in mild embarassment. She watches the dark stallion as she describes his home to her. Her face falters slightly as he admits it is a Desert. She had hoped for cooler weather, but his discription of the landscape makes her feel some level of hope that maybe it isn't that bad. "Okay," she says quietly with a delicate bob to her dished face.
