Re(2): Saving Radio

Do you think enough people do that to save an industry that's lost an easy ability to be saved?

The republicans are ending democracy just by making it harder to vote, not easier. Radio's getting harder to listen to, not easier.

Frankly the mindless music repetition and ten minute commercial sets aren't worth going to that much trouble for people who aren't in radio!

I've broken the habit of waking to radio. I get up, make my coffee, and turn on the TV or just listen to nothing since I'm moving a lot around the house.

Seriously, I haven't heard a morning show since I was ON a morning show.

Remember when teeny rock stations were playing for school age kids? Guess it didn't occur to them that the vast amjority were riding buses to school and weren't listening to anything but their friends! And then, after dinner, they were playing for kids holed up in their rooms, or shopping and talking for ten minutes in their cars, or watching prime time TV!

I think radio's been background noise for a long time. And hours with virtually no commercials on the logs tend to prove that theory.
