Re(3): Plans For Ukraine

In an age where the superpowers have enough nukes to utterly destroy any nation of equal or larger size, reality is no one will risk it.

That means China can take Taiwan anytime it wants and we wont tangle with them now that they have a nuclear arsenal and the delivery system to get it here.

Same with Russia. Nobody's going to stop Putin militarily either, especially when he takes back the non Nato occupied countries.

Its one thing to send a hundred thosuand troops into a Vietnam, even losing 60 thousand soldiers over ten years, and quite another to destroy our economy and all our infrastructure plus lose 50 million to stop him from reconstituting the USSR.

IMHO, russia can live without all our business, including the world banking system just as the Chinese have...but they know Europe can't survive without Russian oil and gas thats piped to them from eastern Europe. We just can't give them the energy they need across the Atlantic. They can't stay warm, at least until they no longer require fossil fuels. When the world weans off of it, both Russia and the Mideast will have nothing the world wants of them.

In 50 years, they may be in deep shit, IMHO, especially the mideast because they have no infrastructure; even single exporting Saudi Arabia is run on foreign goods and contract workers. All they have is oil and they have nothing to trade for all the modern goods they require without oil money.

Russias cars, refrigerators and tractors may not be as advanced as the west's products, but they can get along without the west... they've done it before.

In 15 years, we wont be buying much mideast oil, if ANY! I suspect we're more dependent on German goods than anybody outside our borders---germany's bought up a lot of US capacity like heavy industry and machinery, big pharma, for examples. What's Russia got? Vodka, little dolls and, and what else? Well not counting China...forwe've farmed out most of our manufacturing to them. What would Walmart sell were it not for goods coming in by containership on the westcoast? We made all that stuff just 50 years ago. I don't think any electronics are made here, anymore!

Hmmmm, Danger, Will Robinson!
