A faint smile traced along the spotted mare's freckled lips at his acceptance of her compliment, and she found herself grateful that he didn't offer more praise. She wasn't sure what else she would have picked to comment on, and while Faelyn was neither familiar with compliments nor much of the vagaries of conversation, she was fairly certain that not volleying them back and forth was rude.

Her gaze rose back to his face as he spoke again, and she could sense the placation in his tone even before the words gained shape. Her mother had rarely used such niceties for her, but she recognized them easily enough from the way that Sonorae had spoken to Roux as a filly. Curious as to what Jabari was trying to soften with such a tone, her head tilted fractionally in an unspoken question.

His instructions elicited a nod from her, although she found herself reluctant to answer him. Why would she go home with someone she didn't like, and then choose to go and look for a stallion that didn't appear to like her? The whole situation was confusing, but he thankfully provided something she could easily answer without lying to them both. "Of course," she answered matter of factly, nodding to emphasize. "I guess I will see you someday, maybe, Jabari."

And then, because she was feeling rather out of place and overall just confused at the interaction (a not wholly uncommon experience) she offered him one last closing nod and then dropped her head to graze again in a clear and awkward dismissal.
