Re(3): Jenny Matthews Gets Nose and Boob Job

Wonder if most music directors are males so they tend to program songs most appealing to men. Harder rock, fewer ballads and NO Barry Manilow or Josh Groban? Very different than the music women like and choose to sing on The Voice and America's got Talent. And a tighter rockier selection probably different than mostly romantic female office clerks play softly at their desks.

Wondering how many people who make radio decisions other than country music, who have life experience outside broadcast studios and trade magazines? Wonder how many in radio have mostly friends in radio. What do stations play in other markets not heard in this one? since so few corporations now own the industry and sound alike?

Everytime I go to the doctor or dentists office and listen to what Alexa plays for them, its so different than what I hear on the radio. That reinforces the notion I got after I got away from radio stations for awhile.

Especially dayparting. Get so tired of Eye of the Tiger and the theme from top gun. They have 50 years of greatest hits and they still run their radio stations like its top forty for high school kids cruising around after school!

My dentist plays boomer music for me beasue I look like a boomer. They're half my age and they know the lyrics as well as I do...music of the 60s, and you don't even hear that on the radio today.

I know one guy thinks half the population has aged out of any interest in radio, and I'm thinking they're actually the only ones trying to listen but it's not offered when all stations go for the same demographic slice of the marketplace. Those who lost the radio habit or never got it are getting their music from the new technology. Why do stations program to people who arent listening or otherwise not try an unmet need? Instead, they mostly counterprogram to steal from each other--which is what Arbitron samples? Do they put their spot breaks based on Arbitron's quarter hour rules, or based on when people are in their car, or by the tens of thousands out of their cars walking into their offices at exactly 5 til each hour or getting into their cars at 5minutes after the whistle blows, at 4:05, when Feds go home, or 5:05, 5:35, 6:05, etc. Wonder how many people only hear the radio just at 10 minute spot breaks, or hear only the same fixed time spot everyday?
